We were so happily surprised when we arrived in Cuzco, Peru. An adorable city, full of life and tradition yet very developed with lots of traditional peruvian restaurants, cozy cafes and beautiful shops where you could find the most precious baby alpaca items such as scarfs, ponchos and more. Shopping heaven where you get a lot for a very small amount of money compared to what alpaca items costs back in Europe. (Hilfe!)
There were lots going on, and one day we woke up to a carnival taking place in the center of the city. Apparantly it was a big aniversary for one of the Cuzco markets. They sure know how to celebrate things here.
We stayed for almost two weeks as we wanted to do the Salkantay trek nearby, and ofcourse visit Machu Picchu- more about that later!
Cafe Valeriana with its adorable (and nut free) pastries became a favourite quite fast. The cookie monster awakend… A great place we both wouldn´t mind coming back to one day.
