Exploring Puerto Ayora

On our third day on the island we decided to explore the surrounding of Puerto Ayora. First stop the local fish market where the locals have their morning show: hungry Pelicans, sea lions and other thieves trying to steal some fish rests. Nothing with shy or scared by humans there, you better watch your head!

The second stop was the very disappointing Darwin research center. Except a few posters about birds and fenced turtles , nothing very crispy to see. Neither much information concerning Darwin except a very dark statue of him sitting on a bench.

Luckily we had more chance exploring the Finch bay and the Grietas: A huge crack in the lava stone filled with water were fishes get trapped. They grow really big in absence of predators (see the very scary one with green eyes on the picture).

The day ended with enjoying an ice-cream at the dock with the locals.
