Hello, Costa Rica!

After twenty four hours of travelling we finally landed in Costa Rica and headed south for the coast after having a rest in San Jose. We are currently in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, a charming little beach town where colorful backpacker hostels are mingeling with sparesorts and creative markets to a soft reagge beat. Getting around is easiest by bike, so we’re renting two to explore the area which is overflowing by different types of exciting animals!

After a few lazy beach hours yesterday we rented a kajak to cruise the canal (like a miniature Amazonas!) and ran in to two different types of monkeys amongst tucan birds,  sloths, turtles and iguanas. So much to see, we were completely amazed!

They put on quite the show as we were paddeling by, and I’m pretty sure that one of the monkeys threw poop at us…

We are renting a little cabin in the garden of a private property, and the inside is so pink, it looks like Tinkerbell overdosed on glitter and threw up inhere. It has something though, and we enjoy our little kitchen area in the garden – a cozy place to relax with an ice cold beer after a hot day in the gazing  sun.

  1. Those guys call the iguana ‘the chicken of the trees’ – so, maybe, stick to beef…
