Abel Tasman

After crossing from the north island to the south island we decided to explore the famous Abel Tasman national park. A tramp (hike in kiwi language) is following the coastline and takes 3 to 4 days. However we were not too keen on spending a lot of money on campsites and be part of an army of trampers. Furthermore the description said you can make it in sneekers…That must be for sissies I thought.

We therefore took the one day option in a more remote part of the track. The way there was by itself a great trip. We drove over a beautiful pass and went through cosy villages.

The tramping was georgeous, we started with a hill and an overview of the turquoise bays. After what we went down on paradisiac beaches and through tropical forests with typical New zealand ferns.

We ended the day with streetfood: delicious firewood pizas backed with love.
