We went back to Queenstown with Jason, Karen and Eden on a small trip to pick up two more friends at the airport: Mike and Fern. Miked lived in New Zealand for 2 years. Last time we have seen them was at their wedding in UK before leaving Europe and we were very much looking forward to spend some time with them. We directly headed to Wanaka and stayed at Ben and Christine’s place having nice food and a great time.
The following day we took off for a tramp to the Rob Roy glacier. A pleasant walk to an overhanging glacier with huge waterfalls. A very impressive place. However the drive the the trailhead was a bit more adventurous. 28 km of gravel road with many rivers to drive through. Except the loss of a few plastic parts of Ben’s car, everything went well. It was a very nice day with a big crew.
